On our 35th anniversary, one of the milestones we celebrate is the public support that has been growing through the years.
While saving our national bird is a daunting mission, it is not a lost cause because of you, our donors and partners, who continue to give and trust our work.
Help protect the Philippine Eagle Center
against Bird Flu
With the recent detection of the Avian Influenza or Bird Flu in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, the highly pathogenic disease is now at our doorstep. In the event that it hits Davao City, the Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) will again have to close its gates and resort to lockdown and quarantine.
This is a necessary biosecurity measure to protect all Philippine eagles and other raptors in the facility from being wiped out by this disease. The PEC is home to 5% of the global population of this already critically endangered bird.
We call on the concerned authorities, communities, and individuals for their cooperation and support in this state of biosecurity emergency.
You can help keep the PEC a safe and secure sanctuary for the eagles and other animals by donating.
Php 100 – Maintain routinely cleaning operations of the facility to reduce infection risks
Php 250 – Provide food to the PEC animals in case of lockdown
Php 500 – Support the PEC keepers who will stay and care for the animals in case of a lockdown
Php 1000 – Purchase of materials to improve safety of the bird enclosures.
