Ali-Davao Carbon Forest Marketing Officer

Ayala Land Inc. and the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) have partnered to organize citizen-based actions to restore the 54-hectare grasslands property of Ayala Land Inc (ALI) to their original swamp forest state in Bago Gallera, Davao City. The old swamp forest used to be of ecological importance that sits atop the Dumoy Aquifer, Davao’s most important potable water source.

The ADCF Marketing Officer is responsible for ensuring ADCF marketing plans and initiatives are implemented and delivered efficiently. They are expected to assist project teams manage resources and information, scheduling and planning meetings, and organizing project activities. The role may include additional duties and responsibilities and require expertise in a specific area, such as effective marketing strategies, communications, and human resources.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the overall ADCF forest restoration activities through healthy wildlings nursery and tree nurturing;  

  • Enhance, facilitate and initiate marketing strategies helpful in enriching carbon forest adaption and carbon warriors as the venue for forest bathing and experiential learning of forest restoration and biodiversity conservation;

  • Create a pool PEFs partners and donors, volunteers, and with them in ADCF restoration activities and promotional strategies.

  • Creation of ADCF promotional and public materials such as videos and posters.

  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.

  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from activities and meetings.

  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.

  • Ensuring project deadlines are met.

  • Performs administrative tasks such as:

    • Adheres to PEF’s framework by preparing and submitting narrative reports and documentation.

    • Submits timely liquidations of all financial accountabilities

    • Strictly follow human resource protocols and standards of procedures

    • Strictly follow child protection policy of the organization

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, forestry, community or social development, social sciences, or related field of study.

  • Three years of experience in a related field.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines

Community Education and Public Awareness Officer

One of the backbones of the Philippine eagle conservation is community education and public awareness. PEF believes that all efforts to propagate and protect the eagles are futile without public involvement. As a process, PEF foresees community education as personal and community transformation, empowerment, challenge, social change, and collective responsiveness. It is community-led, reflecting and valuing the lived experiences of individuals and their community.

PEF’s AgiLAYA campaign, a strategy to spread awareness and call for more public involvement in the Philippine Eagle conservation cause is launched on this year’s 35th anniversary. Public talks in schools and agencies, and bringing in local and international champions of eagle conservation are highlights of this campaign.

The Community Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) officer is responsible for all community-based education campaigns of the foundation. This includes virtual and face-to-face campaigns with different sectors and venues. He/She will work collaboratively with the research and conservation program and shall perform tasks in the framework of culture-based conservation. A knowledge hub of research and conservation will be under her care and management as a repository of all knowledge products. In the CEPA campaigns, it is essential to conduct baselines and benchmarks, that the post will conduct a public perception study on the eagles among communities living close to the eagle nesting sites and release sites. He/she will work with PEF’s research team ensuring program and project delivery, documentation, and reports.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively and in harmony with the Research and Conservation Program;

  • Implement the AgiLAYA campaign;

  • Lead CEPA outreach in schools, communities, and public places.

  • Undertake public perception studies on all PEF’s sites

  • Design promotional materials and publication materials

  • Takes charge of the most significant change stories or stories of interest

  • Collects information and reports from the field for PEF’s newsletters and posting

  • Oversee and responsible for the project’s administrative tasks such as the following:

    • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures assigned;

    • Co-organize with the project officers CEPA activities;

    • Ensuring project deadlines are met;

    • Adheres to PEF’s framework by preparing and submitting narrative reports and documentation

    • Submits timely liquidations of all financial accountabilities

    • Strictly follow human resource protocols and standards of procedures

    • Strictly follow the child protection policy of the organization

Qualifications/Skills

  • Preferably MS in conservation education, communication, biology, or related courses is an edge but not a requirement

  • 2 years of experience doing CEPA campaigns

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines

Marketing Officer, 
Development Program

The Marketing Officer is responsible for the overall marketing strategies of the organization. He/she is innovative in promoting the PEF to existing and prospective donors and partners to help sustain the organization's initiatives and operations.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Develops fundraising targets, researches on potential partners and fund raising vehicles

  • Researches on and recruits new donors

  • Works with Communications Officer team to ensure visibility of PEF

  • Facilitates Foundation’s events and exhibits

  • Develops and executes marketing plan

  • Maximizes fundraising opportunities at the PEC

  • Coordinates with the Development Manager in all marketing activities.

Qualifications/Skills

  • With experience in communications, advertising, marketing or any related field is preferred

  • Hardworking with keen interest to learn about wildlife conservation

  • Strategic and can effectively promote the Foundation's programs and generate support from donors, partners, and the public

  • Strong communicator who works well with a team 

  • Meticulous, resourceful, and can take initiative even with minimal direction

  • Understand best practices in social media including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

  • With knowledge or experience in graphic design using Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign, or Illustrator is an asset
