research & conservation

Our research agenda is focused on answering the many targeted questions that will provide the basis for the hands-on management of the eagles in the wild.

Eagle Research

We tag, track, and monitor Philippine Eagles and their nesting sites to determine home ranges, flight patterns and breeding behaviors. We use the data collected to know more about the eagles in the wild and determine what necessary actions and interventions to take in order to protect them.

forest protection & conservation

We partner with indigenous Forest Guards and local upland farmers to help us patrol and restore forests where Philippine Eagles occur. Our rainforestation projects in partnership with various institutions advance our efforts to revitalize barren lands through planting native trees. This does not only benefit the species but the indigenous communities as well that live around nest territories.

CULTURE-BASED CONSERVATION PROGRAM

This program builds and nurtures a productive relationship with communities who share the forests with the Philippine Eagle. We provide them with opportunities to fulfill economic, social, and cultural needs, as they participate in the conservation work. By engaging them, we also help them accomplish their obligations to their community and to the forest achieving a holistic sense of well-being that transcends material benefits. All these have resulted to clear conservation outcomes that underscore the benefits of a healthy forest.
